Survey!

I am slacking! My blogroll folder has gone from 0 unread items to 1000+ unread items and I've been a bit lazy with my blog posts, but at least I've kept my promise and blogged every day so far. Still 2 and a half weeks to go though. To motivate myself I decided to give my kitchen a major clean up and I actually found some cool things while I re-organised everything.

I plan on posting a recipe tomorrow, something perfect for christmas season, but today you're getting a survey that's been making the rounds on the blogroll. The survey is from IEatTrees and I've already read a few filled out surveys by other bloggers, but feel free to link me to your blogpost if you've filled this out, I'd love to read your answers! (Yes, some people actually enjoy surveys.)

I don't have any survey relevant photos, but here's a photo of the banoffee pie I made last year. I had never even heard of banoffee pie, but Lily Allen mentioned it in one of her songs so I got curious. The bottom layer was a cookie crust and I think I just sliced up some bananas and put those on top, followed by some toffee pudding and vegan whipped cream. It was pretty good. :)

What is one food you thought you’d miss when you went vegan, but don’t?
Sweets. I didn't know it back then, but there are so many vegan alternatives out there, the internet saved my a!

What is a food or dish you wouldn’t touch as a child, but enjoy now?
Veggies! The only vegetables I ate as a child were potatoes (lots), spinach, cucumbers and cauliflower. And one of those isn't even a vegetable.

What vegan dish or food you feel like you “should” like, but don’t?
I'm a little freaked out by tempeh, not the taste but.. texture? Especially in it's raw state, I don't like to touch the white stuff. And raw tomatoes, eurgh.

What beverage do you consume the most of on any given day?
Water, but tea takes second place.

What dish are you “famous” for making or bringing to gatherings?
I don't really have a signature dish.

Do you have any self-imposed food rules (like no food touching on the plate or no nuts in sweets)?
Save the best for last.

What’s one food or dish you tend to eat too much of when you have it in your home?
Sweets and baked goods.

What ingredient or food do you prefer to make yourself despite it being widely available prepackaged?
Maybe müsli? I have my own personal mix that I store in a huge jar.

What ingredient or food is worth spending the extra money to get “the good stuff”?
Probably non-dairy milk. My favourite non-dairy milk would have to be hazelnut milk, it's ridiculously expensive and not ideal for savoury purposes, but SO good.

Are you much of a snacker? What are your favorite snacks?
I'm a huge snacker,  think 60 minute intervals. Fruit (dried or fresh), nuts, chocolate and beverages (tea, smoothies).

What are your favorite vegan pizza toppings?
Nooch, zucchini and spinach.

What is your favorite vegetable? Fruit?
I can't decide! Butternut squash or sweet potato, strawberry or mango.

What is the best salad dressing?
Yoghurt + salt/pepper + mustard + juice (the kind you get with canned mandarins, no joke).

What is your favorite thing to put on toasted bread?
Cream cheese with herbs, salt/pepper and some olive oil.

What kind of soup do you most often turn to on a chilly day or when you aren’t feeling your best?
This changes all the time, I love soup! Last year it was red lentil vegetable soup, but I've had a thing for Korean soups and stews lately so those are probably my favourite this year (soondubu jjigae, kimchi jjigae, kongbiji jjigae).

What is your favorite cupcake flavor? Frosting flavor?
Matcha cupcake with vanilla frosting, mmmmmmmh.

What is your favorite kind of cookie?
Orange chocolate chip cookies for the win! Those have been my favourite ever since I was a child and I don't see it changing any time soon.

What is your most-loved “weeknight meal”?
Kimchi fried rice or Bibimbap because they're easy, quick and nutritious.

What is one dish or food you enjoy, but can’t get anyone else in your household to eat?
Kimchi.

How long, in total, do you spend in the kitchen on an average day?
2 hours maybe. I spent a lot of time starring into the fridge and cupboards looking for my next snack.
